Today was April Fools Day as you probably all know. I just had to relate this happening on my blog. It's too good to not tell.
In one of my classes, Leadership and Management, we have two textbooks. One is called, "Lincoln on Leadership", and the other is called "Developing the Leader Within You". Today was our first class and our professor lectured on the first chapter of each book. The first half of the lecture being on the latter and the second half on the former. He told us during the beginning of class that he had a special guest coming to speak for about ten minutes; a guest who was going to make comments on the lecture. "He's sort of famous", the Professor told us. "A real busy man who said he would stop by for a few minutes. Some of you may recognize him when he comes." Well, we were excited to say the least.
About two hours into the class, our guest still hadn't arrived yet. Our Professor goes, "I just received an email from our guest saying he would be a few minutes late." About ten minutes later, he goes, "Excuse me." He pulls out his phone. "He's here. I'm going to greet our guest and when I come back, I expect you all to give him your attention and respect. Give him a warm welcome." He exits the classroom. The class starts talking excitedly.
Five minutes later, one of the freshmen marches in with a big ol' grin on his face humming a very patriotic song. Following close behind is our professor wearing a top hat, black necktie, and holding a black beard to his face. (The adhesive wasn't working correctly.) The very man, Abe Lincoln himself. There was much laughter, cheering, and applause. He spoke for a few minutes about himself and his leadership position and responsibilities.
This school is so great
Read here for a few more jokes pulled off by our very own professors and devious students.
